Our anti-corrosion team carried out specialized works on part of the structure of a hybrid vessel. The surface was prepared by abrasive blasting and subsequently protected with a coating system applied to the entire structure, which had been built by another company.
In addition to the standard coating systems used on ships, the underwater part of the hull was treated with a specialized coating Intershield 163 / Inerta 160, used for vessels operating in icy waters. This coating was applied as the first layer of the system, prior to the application of the antifouling layer, in order to enhance the vessel’s ice-breaking performance. Its application required specialized equipment as well as extensive knowledge and experience.
